Abstract

Abstract  The crime of stolen vehicles (theft of motor vehicles) is very troubling. Various prevention efforts to avoid this crime are still failing. A safety system that is easy to find out and tamper with is one of the causes. This study aims to prototype an IoT (Internet of Things) based motorcycle safety system using ATMega 328 (Arduino Nano), SIM808 EVB 3.2 module, GSM, GPS and Relay. The test was carried out by calculating the delay time of sending short messages to the safety system to control and monitor the presence of the motorcycle through a smartphone. Has successfully made a prototype motorcycle safety system based on IoT (Internet of Things) using ATMega 328 ( Arduino Nano) and the SIM808 EVB.32 module is assisted by a Relay module that is used to remotely turn off the motorcycle engine, in addition to a message function to find out the approximate location of the motorcycle's whereabouts. The security system has an average message reply time delay of 6.32 seconds. Delivery of the approximate coordinates of the location of the motorcycle by the safety system within a radius of 13.3 meters. Keywords: IoT Applications, Motorcycle Safety System
