This study investigates the influence of work motivation as a mediator in the relationship between work ethic, conscientiousness personality traits, and employee engagement. The primary hypothesis posits that conscientiousness and engagement impact work ethic through the mediating role of work motivation, supported by empirical evidence. Using a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 268 respondents (male and female) determined through Harry King's sampling table from a population exceeding 300 individuals. The research methodology involved descriptive analysis via SPSS to profile respondents by gender, age, and education, followed by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for hypothesis testing. SEM was conducted in two stages: Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and structural model testing. Results revealed that work motivation fully mediates the effect of conscientiousness and engagement on work ethic. Model fit indices, including GFI (0.89), CFI (0.98), NNFI (0.97), NFI (0.97), and RMSEA (0.10), demonstrate a satisfactory alignment between the theoretical model and empirical data. These findings highlight the importance of conscientiousness and engagement in fostering a strong work ethic, mediated by work motivation.Downloads
